      The world was created by a rapid expansion of matter that created planets, stars, and everything we know. I’m not an expert in this, and I really wish I knew what was going on before the big bang! Have there been other big bangs before the current one? Fascinating stuff!

      All the geological evidence (from meteorites, and so on) suggests that the Earth formed from the accretion (collision and clumping together) of meteoritic and other debris within a cooling gas and dust cloud around the young sun, shortly before 4.55 Billion years ago. The average composition of the Earth is similar to that of a ‘chondritic’ meteorite.

      I don’t know. I believe there was a big bang, but as to how (or even why) it happened, I have no idea.
