• Question: Why do lips become dry during winter?

      It usually seems to be associated with exposure to cold winds… but beyond that, I don’t know. Sorry!

      Our bodies are constantly loosing moisture through our skin (including lips) and breath. In warm weather we remember to replace this moisture loss by drinking water and juice etc. In winter with the addition of more wind and blocked noses (making us breath through our mouths more) which zaps more moisture, we often forget to drink enough fluids to replace this moisture.

      Because of a loss of moisture from the dry, cold air. That doesn’t seem to describe the UK though 😉
