You may sweat more than other people or your sweat may have a bad odour. Or maybe there is something wrong with other people’s sense of smell and it’s not you at all!
Body odour is a consequence of bacteria, living on the skin, feeding on the proteins and oils produced by some sweat glands, and breaking these down to form products which we can smell.
When a person sweats, the proteins, dead skin and other chemicals contained in the sweat feeds bacteria that naturally live on the skin. The waste product of the bacteria, if not washed away regularly by the person, builds up and starts to smell.
