• Question: When do you think that the rock will drop into the sea and submerge the whole of the south of England? :)

      The south of England was submerged during the Jurassic period, but I know whether the movement of the plates will make it submerge back under the sea again.

      It won’t happen.. there have been major rock failures around the north sea in the past, but these are rare. The last major one was off Norway, 8000 years ago. The worst case would be a large landslide and a small tsunami – but this would’t flood the whole of southern England.
