• Question: what would happen if the nuclear plants you were planning to decommission werent decomissioned? what would the impact be on the surrounding area?

      There is no impact as long as the condition doesn’t deteriorate. They currently aren’t having any impact on surrounding areas but they do cost money, effort and resources to maintain and there is a hazard present (hazard being the potential for an event to occur). Therefore the sooner they are decommissioned the sooner the hazard is removed and we will not have to spend time/money resource on maintenance.
