When I got to university, I found that I really liked neuroscience, psychology, and biology. I first thought that I wanted to be a clinical psychologist, but when I started to do work looking at brain waves using electroencephalogram, I knew I wanted to be a scientist. So, now I’ve been combining my knowledge about how the body responds and how the brain works with developmental psychology. I’m doing this to understand how problems in behaviour and lack of emotions develop in children; also, how these might lead to aggression and conduct disorder.

Early inspiration (from home, and a year long stay in Chile when I was 7).. and a continued curiosity to understand the natural world.. sorry, same answer as previously!

I got interested in science when I was about 17, mainly due to some great teachers I had. Also, the working conditions appealed to me: Being able to chose what you work on, doing something different every day, being able to travel and work in different places.

I wanted to do my two favourite things together – biology and help people.
