• Question: What is the most active Volcano in the world?

      It depends how you define ‘active’, so I’ll give you a few answers!
      – most lava being erupted continuously: Kilauea, Hawaii. This has been erupting lava for over 30 years.
      – most explosions continuously: probably Semeru, Indonesia. This has explosions every few minutes, and has been going for a long time too.
      – longest continuous eruption sequence: probably Stromboli, Italy – which has been erupting for at least 200 years
      – most gas being emitted continuously – probably Etna, Italy. This accounts for about 10% of all volcanic gas emissions, at the moment.
