Looking from the outside, yes, it does, because your brain activity ends. But I don’t know whether the dreamer is aware of it ending, so in that sense, maybe it doesn’t.
Your dream would end as soon as the part of your brain that imagines things dies (occipital part in the back of the head that is responsible for vision). When someone is in a coma, for example, there is no reason why they would not still be dreaming as long as they have not sustained global brain damage.
