• Question: If i dont want to be a doctor/surgeon or any thing in that is there any point in learning biology

      There are many useful careers that you could go into from biology other than doctor – if you are interested in it and enjoy it then go for it (especially at GCSE & Alevel). Research on the internet what careers you could go into http://www.prospects.ac.uk is a good resource

      There may be some point, yes. You have to live in a body and it’s helpful to know how it works, kind of like a user manual. Saying this, I never took biology in secondary school, so it seemed that New York State educational system did not think that it was necessary. (all the biology I learned was at university and postgraduate study once I had picked my major field of study).

      Yes, biology is also about evolution, plants and animals, ecology.. and so on! I should have done more biology at school, but there wasn’t enough space in the timetable, so I took physics and chemistry instead.
