The first person was created from two ape creatures, since evolution suggests that we evolved from apes. Theories suggest that two types of human-like creatures evolved separately; the neanderthals (who may or may not be homo sapiens) and the homo sapiens. The homo sapiens seem to have won out, although there are reasons to believe that the neanderthals and the homo sapiens might have mated, so some of us may be part neanderthal!

The first ‘anatomically modern’ human, Homo sapiens, probably arose about 200,000 years ago in Africa, and evolved from Homo heidelbergensis. We have no idea how quick the transition was, nor precisely where it happened.
