• Question: How many medecines have you seen go from test tube to shelf ? Which was the most interesting ? Which was the most life changing (for the patients) ?

      I haven’t seen any! It takes 10-12 years to get through that whole processes and only a lucky few have seen that happen in their career. There are also many of new medicines that don’t make it along the way and these outweigh the successes.

      Some of the most interesting ones i’ve worked on have not made it to the shelf so I can’t go into too much detail. There have been for heart conditions, diabetes, malaria, immune diseases, some for psychiatric use…..I can remember all of them though.

      I think if you ask the patients they would all say their medicine was the most life changing for them.
