Hi Ciara. Yes, I would. In fact, I did. I even went to Tokyo for work, though only for six months. I think there are lots of nice places in the world, so as long as I can do the work I want to do, I don’t care so much about where I live. I do miss my family and friends though, so I have to make sure I stay in touch with them and use every opportunity to visit.

Hi Ciara, I would live abroad, since I already have left my country to work here in the UK. There are some places I would not want to go to for too long, like places ravaged by war.

I would have to consider my wife’s job and my kids’ school too. If I was single I’d probably be there like a shot.

Great to hear you like what we’re doing and saying here 🙂

Yes! As a research scientist I am part of a global community, and I need to know what other volcanologists are doing in France, Italy, Japan, Mexico, etc.. So I do travel for work; spend time visiting other labs, and networking online or at conferences. It’s a necessary and fun part of the job! I am also becoming addicted to this site..
