Apart from breaking the odd flask of flammable organic liquids in first year chemistry at university, I don’t think so!

I have a colleague in Cambridge (Chemistry), Peter Wothers, who is something of a legend when it comes to controlled explosions!

No, fortunately not. I usually work with really tiny amounts of mostly harmless chemicals, so there is not much danger of blowing stuff up.

Not on purpose :0 Just kidding, I don’t think I’ve blown anything up. I got evacuated from my home, because they thought the petrol station next door to me was about to blow, but I didn’t have anything to do with it.

Check out my profile – just added a photo of us blowing something up…..

But on a day to day basis, I don’t usually blow things up.

I’ve never actually blown anything up but i did make an accidental fireball out of a bunsen burner when in university – was scary and do definitely not try at home/school/anywhere!
