Volcanoes – that one came to pass. The others probably revolved around unrealised fantasies to do with athletics.. and perhaps Bolton Wanderers winning the FA Cup, which could still happen!

My childhood dreams were to be a secretary or a teacher (I used to ‘teach’ my toothbrushes to swim in a sinkfull of water – sometimes they would ‘practice’ all day while I went to school). Now I’m a little bit of both. I deal a lot in paperwork and organization of my work, but I also teach at the university. The only thing I didn’t know I wanted to add in there is science!

I wanted to be a ballet dancer. Which is kind of curious looking back, because I never actually did ballet, so I only had a very vague idea of what it was about.

I don’t think I had anything specific really, just to be happy and enjoy my life.
