I don’t think so – but there are some very clever people out there (like Derren Brown and Peter Clifford) who have a brilliant knack of using verbal and visual cues to get audiences thinking in certain ways.
I think Melanie had a good answer in one of the chats. No, people aren’t psychic, but some people are really good at reading the very minute behavioural cues of their subjects. They use these cues to see if they are on the right track with what they are saying. Also, some of so called psychics speak in generalities and the subject will say ‘yes’ and then give specifics that the ‘psychic’ then uses.
No, nobody is really psychic. Some people give the impression of being psychic, for instance because they are very good at picking up tiny changes in body language in the person they talk to. But no “psychic” has ever been able to remain psychic under strict scientific testing conditions.
