• Question: Can chickens become more like dinosaurs in relation to the T-Rex?

      Now that chickens are domesticated, I don’t imagine that humans would be happy to have chickens take an evolutionary path that does anything other than improve their potential for food production.. But in principle, evolution doesn’t have a necessary direction – and there already are birds which have lost the ability to fly, and live more like land animals. It all depends on whether a new mutation provides an organism with an advantage in a particular niche.

      Research suggests that the closest living relative to the t-rex is the chicken. To a worm, it would certainly look like a t-rex!
