• Question: Apparently, dogs forget what they are told or what their actions are within hours but I dont believe this one as my dog, once she is told off and let out after she has been in her bedroom for and hour or so, comes out of her bedroom but waits for us to say that she can come into the lounge. She also puts her head down as though she is trying to tell us something. What do you think???

I think when dogs are young they forget what they are told quicker than when they are older – young children are the same. They just want to play and not be serious. That’s why dogs have to be trained to do something and they learn by repeating it over and over again. If you taught your dog (sounds like a very dog dog) a new trick today, it would take her a while to learn it – not coz she has a bad memory, because it’s new.

I would have thought that dogs are able to learn, and not to forget everything.
