      I don’t believe in fate. I used to, but now I don’t.

No – I don’t believe in coincidence or fate; but examples of coincidence fascinate me! We have a lot to learn about how different parts of nature interact with each other – for example, do tidal forces affect the tectonic plates, and so on. It’s very easy to rule these things out (like the supermoon idea and the Japanese earthquake), but very hard to prove whether there is, or is not, a very weak link..

Coincidence, although it sometimes seems so perfect that it’s hard not to believe in fate. As a friend of mine once said, “Sometimes it feels as if you were God, had set everything up in exactly this way and then erase your own memory”

Coincidence is just chance – that definitely happens.
As for fate – i’m not sure, sometimes it does seem that things are just meant to be and can’t be explained by science, it’s more of a philosophical question!
